Rewards & Pledges

The rewards and pledges system is a core feature of Campaign Mode in Growfund. This guide explains how to create rewards, manage pledges, and handle reward fulfillment for your crowdfunding campaigns.

Overview​

In Campaign Mode, supporters make pledges toward campaigns in exchange for rewards. Campaign creators offer multiple reward tiers with different pledge amounts, and backers choose which reward tier they want to support.

Key Concepts​

  • Rewards: Perks or items offered to backers at different pledge amounts
  • Pledges: Commitments from backers to support campaigns
  • Reward Tiers: Different reward levels with varying pledge amounts
  • Reward Items: Individual items within a reward tier
  • Fulfillment: Process of delivering rewards to backers

Creating Rewards​

Prerequisites​

Before creating rewards:

  1. Create Campaign

    • Campaign must be created first
    • Rewards are added to campaigns
    • Campaign must be in Campaign Mode

  2. Understand Limits

    • Free version: Up to 3 rewards, 5 items per reward
    • Pro version: Unlimited rewards and items

Step-by-Step Reward Creation​

  1. Navigate to Campaign

    • Go to Growfund > Campaigns
    • Select the campaign you want to add rewards to
    • Click Edit or navigate to Rewards section

  2. Add Reward Tier

    • Click Add Reward button
    • Enter reward tier name
    • Set pledge amount for this tier
    • Write reward description

  3. Add Reward Items

    • Within each reward tier, add reward items
    • Enter item name and description
    • Set item quantity limit (optional)
    • Upload item image (optional)

  4. Configure Shipping (If applicable)

    • Enable shipping for physical rewards
    • Set shipping cost
    • Configure shipping regions
    • Set estimated delivery date

  5. Set Reward Limits

    • Set maximum quantity per backer
    • Set total quantity available (if limited)
    • Configure availability dates

  6. Save Rewards

    • Click Save Rewards
    • Rewards are added to campaign

Reward Types​

Digital Rewards​

  • Digital Products: Downloads, access codes, digital content
  • No Shipping: No shipping configuration needed
  • Instant Delivery: Can be delivered immediately after campaign success

Physical Rewards​

  • Physical Products: Items that require shipping
  • Shipping Required: Must configure shipping costs and regions
  • Delivery Timeline: Set estimated delivery dates

Experience Rewards​

  • Services: Experiences, consultations, workshops
  • Event Access: Tickets, VIP passes, early access
  • Custom Arrangements: Coordinate delivery with backers

Managing Rewards​

Editing Rewards​

  1. Navigate to Campaign

    • Go to campaign details
    • Click Rewards section
    • Find the reward you want to edit

  2. Edit Reward

    • Click Edit on the reward
    • Modify reward details
    • Update pledge amount or description
    • Add or remove reward items

  3. Save Changes

    • Click Save Changes
    • Changes are applied to campaign

Note: Editing rewards may affect existing pledges. Consider the impact before making changes.

Deleting Rewards​

  1. Navigate to Reward

    • Go to campaign rewards section
    • Find the reward to delete

  2. Delete Reward

    • Click Delete on the reward
    • Confirm deletion

Warning: Deleting rewards may affect existing pledges. Ensure no active pledges exist before deleting.

Reward Limits (Free vs Pro)​

Free Version​

  • Maximum Rewards: 3 reward tiers per campaign
  • Maximum Items: 5 items per reward tier
  • Total Items: Up to 15 items across all rewards

Pro Version​

  • Unlimited Rewards: No limit on reward tiers
  • Unlimited Items: No limit on items per reward
  • Flexible Configuration: Complete flexibility in reward structure

Pledge Management​

Viewing Pledges​

  1. Navigate to Pledges

    • Go to Growfund > Pledges
    • View all pledges for your campaigns
    • Filter by campaign, status, or date

  2. Campaign Pledges

    • Go to campaign details
    • Click Pledges tab
    • View pledges for that specific campaign

Pledge Status​

Pledges can have different statuses:

  • Pending: Pledge is made but payment not yet processed
  • Confirmed: Payment is confirmed and processed
  • Charged: Payment is charged to backer
  • Delivered: Reward is delivered to backer
  • Cancelled: Pledge is cancelled

Processing Pledges​

  1. View Pending Pledges

    • Go to Growfund > Pledges
    • Filter by "Pending" status
    • Review pending pledges

  2. Process Payment

    • Click on pledge to view details
    • Verify payment information
    • Process payment through payment gateway

  3. Confirm Pledge

    • Mark pledge as confirmed
    • Send confirmation email to backer
    • Update pledge status

Pledge Fulfillment​

  1. View Confirmed Pledges

    • Go to campaign pledges
    • Filter by "Confirmed" or "Charged" status
    • Review pledges ready for fulfillment

  2. Prepare Rewards

    • Organize rewards for delivery
    • Prepare shipping labels (if applicable)
    • Coordinate with fulfillment team

  3. Mark as Delivered

    • Click on pledge
    • Mark as delivered
    • Add delivery tracking information
    • Send delivery confirmation

Additional Support (Pro)​

Pledging Without Reward (Pro)​

Pro version allows backers to pledge without selecting a reward:

  1. Enable Feature

    • Go to campaign settings
    • Enable "Allow pledging without reward" (Pro feature)
    • Save settings

  2. Backer Experience

    • Backers can select "No reward" option
    • Make pledge without reward selection
    • Support campaign directly

Custom Donation Amounts (Pro)​

Pro version allows custom donation amounts:

  1. Enable Feature

    • Go to campaign settings
    • Enable "Allow custom donation amounts" (Pro feature)
    • Save settings

  2. Backer Experience

    • Backers can enter custom amount
    • Pledge any amount above minimum
    • More flexible support options

    • Go to campaign rewards
    • Select reward with physical items
    • Click Shipping section

  2. Configure Shipping

    • Enable shipping for reward
    • Set shipping cost

Managing Backers​

Viewing Backers​

  1. Navigate to Backers

    • Go to Growfund > Backers
    • View all backers across campaigns
    • Filter by campaign or date

  2. Campaign Backers

    • Go to campaign details
    • Click Backers tab
    • View backers for that campaign

Backer Information​

  • Contact Details: Name, email, address
  • Pledge History: All pledges made by backer
  • Reward Status: Reward fulfillment status
  • Communication: Message history with backer
